Criminal Minds is an American police procedural series created by Jeff Davis for CBS. It began running on September 22, 2005 and concluded on February 19, 2020, before returning for a sixteenth season on Paramount+ on November 24, 2022.
Series summary[]
Criminal profilers from the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit investigate violent and unusual crimes, with episodes focusing largely on the criminals rather than the crimes themselves. The cast is large and frequently changes members; the current team includes unit chief Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), and special agents Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), Jennifer Jareau (A.J. Cook) and Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler).
Spin-off[]
- "The Fight" was the backdoor pilot for Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. It was a short-lived spin-off series starring Forest Whitaker as unit chief Sam Cooper. It was canceled after one season. Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds was a regular on this series as well.
- "Beyond Borders" was the backdoor pilot for Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds appeared in "Denial" and "Lost Souls".
- A non-contiguous South Korean remake of the same name ran from July to September 2017
