Tommy Westphall Universe

Here are the rules for inclusion and exclusion of television series, miniseries, and films in the Tommy Westphall Universe. These rules were created by Keith Gow and Ash Crowe. If you want to change the rules for the wiki, please discuss the change on talk page.

Television series[]

  • Spin-offs are included if they aired separately from their parent series. However, if the spin-off was only a backdoor pilot that did not lead to a series of its own, then it is not included.
  • Anthology series are not included in Westphall but are included here.
  • Reality series are not included.
  • Sketch comedy series with few exceptions are not included
  • Animated productions are not included in Westphall but are included here.

Films and miniseries[]

  • Television films are included in Westphall.
  • Miniseries are included in Westphall.
  • Direct-to-video films are not included in Westphall but are included here.
  • Theatrical films are not included in Westphall but are included here.

People[]

  • Fictional characters are included with the exception of characters like Santa Claus (Unless played by the same actor on different occasions)
  • Real people who play themselves are not included, so when Jon Cryer, Charlie Sheen, and Angus Jones appeared as themselves on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, the series did not cross over regardless of the episode title. However, if an actor plays a real person on multiple occasions, for example Gail Davis playing real-life gunslinger Annie Oakley in both her title series and in Alias Jesse James counts as a crossover. The implication being that they are playing a different version of that person distinct from their real-life basis.

Places[]

  • Fictional places that are specific to a series can create a crossover.
  • Real places are not included

Products =[]

  • Fictional products that are a substantive element of a series are included such as Morley cigarettes.
  • Real products are not included.

Stock footage[]

Some uses of stock footage have been included, but only if it sufficiently implies a shared continuity.
